Rocky Gerung Becomes a Speaker at Hari Desa Nasional 2025
January 15, 2025
On Tuesday (January 14), Rocky Gerung, representing Tumbuh Institute, attended an invitation as a keynote speaker at Simposium Sabisa (Semua Bicara Desa) Dalam Rangka Memperingati Hari Desa Nasional Tahun 2025 in Sumedang, West Java.
The Chairman of Tumbuh Institute, Rocky Gerung, delivered a critical perspective on the evaluation of the first 100 days of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Rocky emphasized the importance of starting the preservation of the nation from the villages, an approach he considers more effective than policies solely focused on the central government.
“If you want to preserve the nation, start from the villages,” said Rocky. In this context, he underlined that village heads (kades) play a more significant role than heads of state in building a strong societal foundation. This statement reflects the importance of decentralization and the empowerment of local communities as the core of national development strategies.
Rocky also linked his views to the target of 8% economic growth desired by President Prabowo. According to him, this ambitious economic growth can only be achieved if the development of villages receives adequate attention. Villages, with all their potential, are the main pillars for creating inclusive and sustainable growth.
In his speech, Rocky called on all Indonesians to collectively preserve the Republic. “Preserving the Republic is not only the government’s duty but also our collective responsibility,” he said. This call reflects the collective spirit that every element of the nation must possess to maintain Indonesia’s unity and prosperity.
